Problems have arisen with ballots cast by residents of Panga Village in Mon State’s Thanbyuzayat Township. Unaware of how to vote properly many have voted without stamping the seals.

“Commission members who were waiting nearby saw them casting the ballots without stamping the seal. Yet, they could only watch them as they don’t have the right to tell voters (how to do it properly),” said Ko Soe Soe, a resident of Panga Village.

Reporters from Mon News Agency also witnessed incidents like these while covering  the election in 4 polling stations in Panga village.

At the time of press, it’s unclear how many others across Myanmar also didn’t stamp seals on ballots when voting, which according to election regulations render them invalid.
