People who like, comment, and share posts on the revolutionists’ social media pages have been arrested and prosecuted by junta forces in Mon State’s Mawlamyine, the sources close to the court confirmed to Than Lwin Times.

The security forces keep on monitoring the social media accounts of the revolutionists and detaining the account holders who comment on their posts using a genuine Facebook profile.

According to a source close to the court, if someone “likes” and “comments” on posts made by well-known revolutionists, he or she will be detained and charged under Section 505 within a week.

According to the military sources, the junta is constantly monitoring those who like, comment, and share the posts of the dissidents on social media and arrests at least 10 of them every week.

In addition, the military council also arrested those who commented and shared the posts of social media pages of the National Unity Government (NUG), the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH), and People’s Defense Forces (PDFs), and took action against those who wrote comments on the reports of news outlets whose licenses had been revoked.

Currently, the military council has charged those who have been wrongfully arrested under Section 505, Section 52 (a) of the Anti-Terrorism Act, Section 124 (a) of the Penal Code, Section 33 (a) of the Electronic Transaction Law, and other existing laws.

On the other hand, the military lobby is advocating for the arrest of critics of the military council by revealing their photos, addresses, and occupations, and the military council is also making arrests based on this information.

The Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP) announced that nearly 17,000 people were arrested after the military coup in Myanmar.
