PDF joint forces attack Maungmagan police station

The joint team of the People’s Defense Force attacked the police station in Maungmagan village in Launglon Township, Tanintharyi Region, the locals told Than Lwin Times.

The regime’s police station was attacked by PDF joint forces around 8 pm of December 4.

Following the attack, the two sides exchanged fire for nearly an hour, during which a military vehicle sent to reinforce was hit by a landmine planted by the PDF.

According to a local, the injured policemen were driven away in an ambulance overnight. On December 5, more ambulances showed up at the police station.

Sources close to the People’s Defense Forces say that at least five policemen might have been killed in the attack on the police station, but Than Lwin Times has not been able to confirm this independently.

Residents of Maungmagan are concerned that a conflict would break out because military personnel have been searching the area since the morning of December 5, following the attack on the police station.

This is the first time the Moungmagan police station has been attacked since the military coup.
