The short film Ma Thouk Mi Thaw Moe Khar Yay about a junta army officer who joins the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) will be screened in India in Aizawl, in Mizoram State, at 1:00 pm on 29 October.

The film, directed by Ko Pauk and was filmed with a camera phone. He made it to raise awareness of the important role of the CDM in the revolution.

The screening, at Dawrpui Multipurpose Hall in Aizawl, is being arranged by Mizoram State refugee relief organizations and activists from Myanmar.

One of the organisers explained that they were screening the short film in India to urge Burmese people in India to continue taking part in the revolution not only through the CDM but also through activities like funding and supporting the revolution.

One of the organisers said: “We are screening the short film in India to urge Burmese people in India to continue supporting the revolution not only through the CDM, but also through activities like funding and supporting the revolution. The entrance fee will be 300 rupees and the profits will be given to the director Ko Pauk.”

The film has already been shown in London, England; Sydney, Australia; and Tokyo, Japan. Showings have also been scheduled for other countries
