The Kare People’s Defence Force (KPDF) issued an order on September 23 not to carry drugs and military-linked products within Palaw Township, held by the KNU in Tanintharyi Region.

Residents of the KNU-controlled territories must abide by guidelines prohibiting the carrying of drugs and military council items, as well as accepting inspections when passing through checkpoints, the statement said.

A KPDF official told Than Lwin Times that after the coup, drugs have become more prevalent in Palaw Township, and that buying and using products of the Military Council would lead to the payment of bullets to kill people.

The statement also said that the local people should follow the rules and if they don't follow them, they will be held responsible.

After the military seized power, Palaw Township has seen attacks on military convoys and clashes between the junta army and KNLA joint forces.
