The military convoy was ambushed and attacked with landmines by a combined People’s Defense Forces in Tanintharyi Region’s Palaw and Bokepyin Townships, the PDFs told Than Lwin Times.

The Myeik PDF Battalion 1 and allied forces attacked a three-vehicle military convoy heading to Palaw from Myeik with a landmine near Palaw Township’s Kade village on the morning of September 20.

A military vehicle was burned in the attack, and a 30-minute exchange of fire took place between the two sides.

The People's Defense Forces were able to retreat after the two sides exchanged fire, and the circumstances of the junta’s casualties are still under investigation, a PDF said.

In addition, on the morning of September 19, the military convoy with four military vehicles and a civilian car from the Bokypyin-based 13th Military Operations Command , which were heading from Pyigyi Mandai to Bokypyin carrying about 30 soldiers, was ambushed by the PDF Battalion 1, Kawthaung District near Wadin and Wachaung Villages.

A source close to the 1st PDF Battalion of the Kawthaung District said that the battle took place for about 20 minutes, and the casualties of the military council are not yet known.

Residents of Tanintharyi Township claim that the military council, along with Pyu Saw Htee members, has strengthened security across the township as a result of military council convoys being mined and ambushed.
