Three junta army deserters apprehended by PDFs in Sagaing’s Indaw Township

Three junta soldiers who deserted from the army were captured by defence forces in Sagaing Region’s Indaw Township on 10 September.

The junta soldiers deserted their posts at the monastery in Nabar Village in Indaw Township at about 1:00 a.m. on 10 September. They were apprehended by members of the Indaw Revolution (IR) People’s Defence Force (PDF) and Hteechaing PDF on the Indaw to Hteechaing road at around midday on 10 September.

A representative of Indaw Revolution PDF said: “The deserters from Light Infantry Battalion 301 were captured by our alliance force [Hteechaing PDF], they [the Deserters] had no ammunition with them… We have detained them and currently we are looking after their needs.”

He said that the three deserters were Aung Lin (Soldier ID-568818), Min Htay Hlaing (Soldier ID-566678) and Myint Zaw Oo (Soldier ID-126310).
