Young man allegedly beaten to death

According to family members, a 30-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by guards at No (20) ward’s administration, Hlaingtharya (West) township, Yangon region.

A family member confirmed to Mizzima that Han Zaw Tun, who died on August 13, was beaten by guards and died of a wound in the back of the head while passing in front of the ward administrator's office in the early hours of the morning to go to work.

Severe injuries were found on the back of the head in a photo of the deceased sent by a family member.

When family members went to the police station to collect the body, police told family members that he had died of a disease after drinking water at the guard post of administrative office.
