San Maw Lin, the USDP Village Organizer of Yele Maw Village, Kan Phyu group, Wetlet Township in Sagaing Division was shot dead on July 22.

A local told Mizzima that San Maw Lin, 45, was shot dead at 9 am near the Nyaungbinpu stone crusher machine on the Mandalay-Myitkyina strategic road.

A local said, “He is a big informer (Dalan) he brings military council troops to the village and asks for money from business owners. Rumour has it that he is a member of Pyu Saw Htee and he also has pistols. According to eyewitnesses, he was shot eight times in the car.”

Soldiers and police reportedly arrived at the accident site and are investigating the shooting.

Also in Wetlet Township, 35-year-old Nan Nyunt Lwin (aka) Ga Nan, the village administrator appointed by the military council, was assassinated in Thit Sein village on July 15.
