Civilians displaced from Paletwa by armed clashes between the Arakan Army and the Tatmadaw are in serious need of rice, according to the Relief and Rehabilitation Committee for Chin IDPs.

The armed groups have reportedly been restricting the transport of rice in Chin State since the last week in February.

As the RRCCI has pointed out in a press release 18 April, providing humanitarian support for the displaced people has been difficult.

According to Khumi Media Group, volunteers are having difficulty working and are frightened for their safety.

“We are not safe and secure here,” a volunteer told RRCCI. “We have to stay alert day and night. As volunteers, we do not have any reliable security here.”
