Colonel Hla Oo from the Tatmadaw’s 66th Light Infantry Division (LID-66) has been appointed as the new Shan State Minister for Security and Border Affairs during the emergency session of the Shan State Hluttaw on June 18.

Only 113 MPs out of 143 MPs attended the emergency session on June 18.

Colonel Hla Oo from LID-66 has been appointed to replace the former minister Col. Naing Win Aung after he was promoted as the division commander and transferred to Sagaing.

This is the second time the Shan State government replaced the Minister for Security and Social Affairs since the new government took office.
