Hsipaw MP urges Shan State government to reduce motorcycle licensing fees

A Shan State MP wants to get more unlicensed motorcycles registered by reducing the fee.

On December 7, the state parliamentarians showed overwhelming support for MP Nan San San Aye’s proposal to reduce the license fees for registering motorcycles.

“It’s very important for every motorcycles to have a license in Shan State. Every day, we read on the social media about motorcycle accidents and car accidents. It’s difficult to take action in response to these accidents because they don’t have any license plates or registered licenses,” said Nan San San Aye’s from Hsipaw Constituency – 1.

After the proposal was approved, Nan San San Aye said momentum must continue so that costs are actually reduced.

“In my opinion, the government typically urges [the hluttaw] to record the proposals. The MPs have to strive to make our proposals successful and ensure that the government keeps up with its pledges,” Nan San San Aye added.

The eighth session of the Shan State Hluttaw is considering around 60 proposals between December 4 to 8.
