The concerned authorities of Maungdaw Township has recently ordered the villagers living nearby the highway - to extend the highway-road of Maungdaw-Bossara, Ramizuddin, a resident of Maungdaw said.

The concerned authorities had already ordered to build 100 feet wide the old highway of Maungdaw southern side, which crossing many different villages, he added.

Mostly houses, mosques and a cemetery of Bossara village will be destroyed if the road is going to be broaden, Nur Meah from a neighboring village said.

The villager also clarified that the roadside trees are being cut off and cleaned the road.  However the houses are still not destroyed up to now.

Similarly, many trees of Udaung and Myient Hlut villages had also been cut down to clean the road sides, Hafiz from Maugdaw said.

If their houses were destroyed, they would be in trouble. They will not get any compensation from the government, according to an elder on condition of anonymity.

“The authorities have no sympathy on Rohingya community, they always try to push the Rohingya people into troubles,” a businessman from Maungdaw said,
