In Karenni State, a total of 19 civilian homes were damaged during attacks carried out by the military junta in February, according to records from the Karenni Human Rights Group (KnHRG).

In addition to the destruction caused by the attacks, homes were also reportedly burned by the PNO militia operating under the junta. However, the number of houses burned has not yet been officially documented, said the director of KnHRG.

“based on the data we gathered for February, we have not yet obtained information regarding the number of civilian homes that were burned. Most of the recorded damage resulted from airstrikes, artillery shelling, and drone bomb attacks,” the director of KnHRG said.

During fighting near Moebye town along the Shan–Karenni border in February, PNO militia forces under the military council intentionally burned civilian homes, according to members of resistance forces. The total number of houses destroyed in those incidents is still unknown.

Similarly, data collected by the Karenni Civil Society Network (KCSN) shows that during February, 14 houses were damaged across several townships: three in Demoso Township, six in Pruso Township, and five in Bawlakhe Township. The information was released today, March 6.
