Junta's Airstrike Kills Nearly 30 Civilians in Rohingya Village

Advocates for Rohingya welfare stated that on early March 18, the Junta conducted an airstrike with a jet aircraft, targeting Thada Rohingya village in Minbya Township, Rakhine State.

Initial reports indicate that at around 1:00 am while the villagers were asleep, they were  subjected to aerial bombardment, resulting in the deaths of nearly 30 Rohingya villagers.

" A plane dropped a bomb while people were sleeping. Initial reports suggest that around 25- 26 people have died, with many others injured and receiving medical treatment, including some in critical condition”, an aid worker said.

The village affected by the airstrike has over 300 households, including both residents and Rohingya people displaced by conflict who had sought refuge in neighboring villages.

The Arakan Army (AA) has seized control of Pauktaw, Kyauktaw, Mrauk-U, Minbya, Myebon, and Ponnagyun townships in Rakhine State. Due to the Junta's frequent airstrikes targeting these areas, numerous residents are fleeing their homes.
