Young Myanmar migrant worker stabbed to death in Thailand

The dead body of a missing Myanmar migrant worker, filled with stab wounds was found in Bangkok, Thailand, where he was working.

The young man had been missing since January 15th evening, and his friends and relatives searched for him but could not succeed. After that, a missing person case was reported to the Thai police with the help of a social assistance association, and the body was found only after a widespread search.

The stabbing victim was identified as 31-year-old Khun Thura Soe, a resident of Naung In village in Aye Thar Yar town, Taunggyi District, Shan State.

“There have been many cases of young migrant workers being killed in Thailand. We have helped in cases such as being shot dead by their employers or fighting and killing each other. One of the main reasons is the build-up of arrogance, ego and feud among the youths themselves”, said Sai Lein Kham, who helps migrant workers in Thailand.

Currently, the Thai police are conducting follow-up investigations regarding the deceased in cooperation with some social assistance organizations in the country.

In addition, Sai Lein Kham also urged young Myanmar migrant workers in Thailand to learn to help and show love to each other.

"If you face any problems abroad, ask your friends and relatives for help. In foreign countries, you have to live according to the laws they enacted. Some people don't believe that such things happen and take it lightly. Everyone has their own values”, he said.

After the Military Council's staged a coup, the internal military conflict and economic crisis worsened, forcing many Myanmar citizens to flee en masse to neighboring Thailand.
