Two Men Possibly Executed by Military Junta in Mudon Township

Two local men from Kalawtthawt and Kawtpihtaw villages in Mudon Township were reportedly shot dead, possibly by the military junta and its allied Pyu Saw Htee militia, according to local sources.

The victims, identified as 25-year-old Mon Thai from Kalawtthawt Village (Ward 1) and Arr Kalan from Kawtpihtaw Village, were shot and killed around 2 a.m. on March 10 near the entrance of Kalawtthawt Village, in front of the rural health center.

According to a Mudon resident, the two men had previously been detained multiple times for theft-related offenses. Due to their activities, they were allegedly targeted and shot by Pyu Saw Htee militia members patrolling the village at night.

"There weren’t any military security posts nearby, but Pyu Saw Htee groups were seen moving around. Since the killings happened outside the village, no one can say for sure who was responsible," the resident said.

On the morning of the incident, locals reported hearing six gunshots, and six AK-47 shell casings were found near the crime scene.

The bodies of the two men were transported to Mudon Township Public Hospital by a local rescue team. A resident also mentioned that the victims had been involved in past disputes with other young men in the area.

There are conflicting accounts regarding the killings, and IMNA is continuing to verify the details.

According to local police reports, both victims had active complaints against them for stealing motorcycles, phones, and other valuables in villages around Kalawtthawt.

Meanwhile, a pro-military Telegram channel claimed that the two young men were found dead in Kalawtthawt Village alongside AK-47 shell casings.
