Third session of 21st Century Panglong Conference to include minority rights, gender equality

The third session of the 21st Century Panglong Conference will also focus on minority rights and gender equality, Zaw Htay, director general of the President’s Office, said.

"In this session, although very important political "package" will not be talked, we will focus on political issues such as minority rights and gender equality," said Zaw Htay. 

He made that remark to media after the a meeting of the Union Peace Dialogue Joint Committee (UPDJC) secretariat held in National Reconciliation and Peace Center office in Nay Pyi Taw on June 25.

In the third session, the stakeholders will discuss political, security, economic, land, environment and social sectors.

The meeting of UPDJC secretariat have decided that the third session of the 21st Century Panglong Conference to begin on July 11.
