Some ministers from the Chin State government may be forced to resign and the public will find out soon, the Chin State Hluttaw Speaker Pu Zo Bawi told the Chin World on May 7.

“There may be changes, but it’s not definite yet. The public will find out soon,” said Pu Zo Bawi, who is also chairman of the Chin State’s National League for Democracy (NLD).

He told 7 Day Daily on March 7 that the Chin State Hluttaw is trying to force a minister from the Chin State government to resign due to his failure to perform his duties.

The Chin State Hluttaw Speaker has not revealed the minister’s name during the interview with 7 Day Daily and explained that the minister will be forced to resign under the reason for his failure to carry out successful projects.

The Chin State Chief Minister Salai Lian Luai said he did not know anything about the possible changes after U Win Myint became the new president.

There are six ministers in the Chin State government including the chief minister and two of them are experts, namely the Minister of Municipal Affairs, Electricity and Industry Salai Isaac Khen and the Minister of Forestry Mang Hen Dal.

The chief minister Salai Lian Luai, Minister of Transportation U Shwe Htee Yo, the Minister of Planning U Wi Kaw, and Minister of Social Affairs U Pau Lun Ming Thang, who is from Zomi Congress for Democracy have been appointed after winning the election as MPs in 2015.

No news has circulated about changes in the Chin State government within its two-year term until after U Win Myint became president.

The Minister of Municipal Affairs was sacked in the Rakhine State for his failure to carry out successful projects.
