The northern part of Shan State is experiencing heightened military clashes in recent events. The Kachin Liberation Army (KIA) attacked the Military Council columns as they were coming from Lashio, contributing to a tense situation between Kutkai and Namhpatkar. The TNLA has also attacked the Military Council troops while they were moving through Kutkai towards Muse - Namhkam, resulting in ongoing battles in the region.

Following the battle near Namaum village, the military camp located 105 miles away from Muse township fired artillery shells towards the village. As a result, a local house in Namaum village sustained damage. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident, according to the locals.

“On the evening of July 23, a clash occurred between the TNLA and the regime’s militia in Saylan, resulting in the death of 2 militia-men. Since then the militias have been expressing their intent to retaliate against the TNLA. It appears they were on high alert, anticipating the TNLA's potential arrival last night. The source of the drone is unknown, but it was deployed by someone that night. Throughout the night, gunshots were heard in approximately 5 different locations.”
