A convoy carrying Rakhine State Chief Minister was attacked with remote controlled mines on Yangon-Sittway road yesterday afternoon but no one was hurt, according to state media.

Rakhine State Chief Minister U Nyi Pu and party conducted regional development field works and was returning to Sittway from Kyaukpyu Township on the Yangon-Minbu-An-Sittway road when three remotely controlled improvised explosive devices (IEDs) went off simultaneously.

No one was hurt by the explosion but a windshield of a car and a side glass panel of another were shattered.
