PDF raids BPI pharmaceutical plant, horse breeding battalion in Magway

Local People's Defense Forces (PDF) raided a plant of Burma Pharmaceutical Industry (BPI) and a horse breeding battalion base in Magway Region, killing 5 Military Council troops, and the Junta launched a retaliation aerial attack.

PDF fighters raided the BPI plant and horse breeding battalion in the town of Myitchay in Pakokku Township, Magway Region on February 11th at 6:00AM, A PDF official from Myaing township said.

“They opened fire back, but we were able to eliminate a Captain, a Lieutenant and three privates of the Military Council in close combat”, he explained.

PDF fighters raided the BPI plant and horse breeding battalion from 6:00 AM to 8:45 AM and the Military Council responded with an air raid, the Myaing-PDF official said.

During the raid, a sergeant and two privates of the Military Council were captured alive, and Myaing-PDF will continue to pursue legal matters against them.

In that operation, buildings and dormitories in the BPI plant and the battalion were burned down and the horses were freed.

Around 50 Military Council members and more than 100 of their family members live in those two places, sources close to the Junta Army said. But the family members of the soldiers were not harmed in these raids.

During the operation, three MA 1 assault rifles, six cartridges, and fifteen Uzi submachine gun magazines were seized, Myaing-PDF announced.

After that, a Mi 35 helicopter of the Military Council came and fired more than 100 bullet rounds, forcing more than 1000 residents of two nearby villages to flee to safety areas.
