Nation has unprecedented unity, President says

President Htin Kyaw said that Myanmar had unprecedented unity among government, people, Tatmadaw (Defence Services), parliament, political parties, civil societies, and ethnic armed organizations and the country was on the right track of development with this unity.

President was speaking as part of his felicitation message to 97th National Day ceremony held on November 13.

“It is time to uplift the strength of unity by all people in the country to the utmost level,” the President said in his message.

Moreover, he urged the all people in his message to strive for the emergence of a union based on democracy and federalism with this national unity as the backdrop to 21st century Panglong conference being held for building a genuine democratic federal union.

National Day is observed in commemoration of first Students’ Boycott against the colonial education system in 1920, 10th waning day of Tazaungmon, 1282 BE.
