The Myanmar Photographer Association is preparing for an international photography contest in which anyone from all over the world can apply.

Myanmar Photographer Association President Kyaw Kyaw Win said that they were preparing this contest for the first time to give an opportunity to all amateur photographers to hone their skills and art to become a world class professional photographer.

“This photo contest is recognized by International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP-Fédération Internationale de l'Art Photographique) which is recognized by UNESCO. A photo contest can be conducted if IFAP approved but we could not conduct such contests in Myanmar in the past for various reasons. We will hold this contest here for the first time. This is the first such contest for Myanmar and also for our association,” President Kyaw Kyaw Win said.

The contestants can send their photos in print and also in digital format through online submission. President Kyaw Kyaw Win said that each contestant can send sixteen photographs to the contest.

In print section there will be two categories, favourite black and white and colour. In digital format there will be two categories, travel and people. FIAP will award a total 72 prizes and gold, silver and bronze medals along with other awards.

The winning contestants in this international contest will be recognized by FIAP and Myanmar Photographer Association.

The deadline for sending photos is November 30 and all details for this contest are available on the webpage of Myanmar Photographer Association.
