The bombing sites were the 31st and 26th Battalions of the KIA 9th Brigade in the Hkamti region of the Kachin-Sagaing border and the headquarters of the KIA 2nd Brigade in Danai Township.

The regime’s air force also deployed a jet- fighters to attacked three times a campsite under the KIA 9th Brigade in Hpakant Township, Sezin Region, according to a Sezin regional KIA official.

Ja Htu Zup residents say the attack on the 2nd KIA Brigade is mostly likely a response to the KIA 14th Battalion in the Ja Htu Zup area, trying to close down gold mining operations of a military proxy, the Min Zin Thant militia group.

In the beginning of August 2022 in the Sezin region, a week-long conflict between the Military Council and the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) took place, and there were heavy airstrikes from war-planes.
