Myanmar junta forces loot and burn Yazagyo village in Sagaing

According to local residents, Military Council troops broke into peoples’ houses and stole valuables in Yazagyo village, Kalay Township, Sagaing and then burned down several houses.

According to a local villager, the soldiers stole the valuables from more than 200 houses. The total value of the stolen property and money is not yet known. The news has just been released.

"The Military Council soldiers arrived on 5 August. They searched the village and broke into houses and stole valuable items from the houses. They took away the stolen products from houses with a 12-wheeler truck. It has been confirmed that six houses were burned by the junta,'' said a local resident of Yazagyo.

On 4 August, CDF-Ton Zang and the joint forces attacked with mines a military convoy on the Tamu-Kalay road, killing 50 junta soldiers and injuring at least ten, according to the CDF–Ton Zang.

 

The junta soldiers from the convoy which had suffered these casualties entered Yazagyo village with 300 personnel on 5 August and destroyed a number of people’s houses. There are over 2,000 houses in Yazagyo village, according to a local villager.

According to the CDF-Ton Zang, the Military Council troops are currently reinforcing their forces to be stationed in Yazagyo village. Yazagyo villagers have fled to take shelter in nearby villages.
