Myanmar can rely on China for peace process, says Mr. Sun Guo Xiang

Chinese special envoy Mr. Sun Guo Xiang said that China is the country which Myanmar can rely on for the peace process being implemented.

Mr. Sun Guo Xiang is the special envoy appointed by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of People’s Republic of China for Asian affairs.

“I would like to say China is a good country which Myanmar and Myanmar people can rely on while the country is pushing the peace process. In the future too, China consider to give help continually and actively to Myanmar where it needs,” he said.

He was speaking at the ceremony to provide donations of US$ 300,000 each to Myanmar government’s Peace Commission (PC) and Joint Monitoring Committee (JMC).

JMC-Union level secretary (1) Dr. Sui Khar said, “As the special envoy said, this shows Chinese people and government encourage the peace process in Myanmar and gives assistance for this work. He said that they gave assistance to Myanmar for speedy restoration of peace in the country in good faith and benevolence.”

China is is providing assistance for realization of peace dialogues between government and four northern alliance organizations. JMC is the institution constituted as per the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA), to monitor ceasefire and to intervene in case conflicts break out among organizations and government troops.
