MP raises questions over ACC complaints

Upper House MP Myo Win from Mon State No. 8 constituency asked question regarding the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) at Union Parliament (joint sitting of both houses) about why 25% of complaint letters received by the commission had no action taken.

Upper House MP Myo Win from Mon State No. 8 constituency said that ACC received over 10,000 complaint letters in 2018 out of which they sent suggestions on only 50%.

Myanmar stood at 176 out of 180 most corrupt countires index during 2007-2012 and 130 during 2012-2017. It fell to 132 again in 2018. MP Myo Win pointed out that these figures showed corruption cases rose again and it proved that the corruption is not falling.
