Government peace team to meet non-signatory armed groups soon

Preparatory Subcommittee-2 for the Union Peace Conference (21st Century Panglong) is set to meet a delegation for political negotiation (DPN) from the United Nationalities Federal Council (UNFC) in Chiang Mai, Thailand the third week of June state media reported on 15 June.

According to the report, Dr Tin Myo Win, chairman of the preparatory committee, and party are also set to meet with UWSA, Mongla and the NDAA. Meetings are expected to take place on 17 or 18 June in Mongla or Kengtung, depending on the weather.
