Mizoram State Sports Minister Pu Robert Romawia Royte and family donated aid for the Chin Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) taking shelter in Champhai District near India-Myanmar Border in Mizoram State, on June 21st.

The trucks loaded with 30 bags of rice, 30 bags of potato, 10 bags of sugar, 20 bags of bean and five bags of onion left Aizawl for Champhai District on the morning of June 21st.

Recently the Mizo Students’ Union (MSU) provided relief aid to the IDPs staying on India-Myanmar Border, in cooperation with the Myanmar Refugee Relief Committee (MRRC).

Due to the recent fighting between the Civil Defense Force and the military council in Htantalan Township of Chin State, hundreds of the people have flocked to the Mizoram State of India.

Many IDPs are still left stranded on the India-Myanmar border.

Since the army seized the country’s power on February 1st, the total number of people fleeing to the Mizoram State of India has exceeded 10,000.
