Meth pills worth over Ks 3 billion seized in Rakhine State's Buthidaung Tsp

The border guard police seized methamphetamine pills worth over Ks 3 billion in Buthidaung Township, Rakhine State on July 4.

“The methamphetamine pills were found ownerless on a boat that was docked in the mangrove forest at the mouth of Sein Hnyin Pyar Creek near Lai Shay Pyin Village in southern Buthidaung Township. Nyaung Chaung Border Guard Police seized them and it’s not under our jurisdiction so please ask them,” said the chief of Buthidaung Myoma Police Station.

A total of 1.599 million meth pills have been found in 8,200 packages, each package contains 195 pills branded with WY and R logos, weighting 159.9 kg and worth Ks 3.198 billion.

An official from the Nyaung Chaung Border Guard Police Station confirmed the seizure of methamphetamine pills and said they were seized around 8 am on July 4.

Narinjara News was unable to ask for details due to bad phone connection.

The drugs were found after the police searched a suspicious long boat, which was covered with tarpaulin.
