The two officers were killed in an attack on the camp of the junta-affiliated Karen Border Guard Force (BGF) at the intersection of Maelan village in Belin Township, Mon State, an official from Thaton District PDF told Than Lwin Times.

On April 9, at around 10 a.m., the combined force of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) dropped three bombs using drone on the BGF camp at the intersection of Maelan village.

In that attack, two BGF members, Lieutenants Mya Win and Moe Zat, were killed, and some buildings were reportedly damaged.

On the same day, the KNLA Joint Force attacked the 44th Division based in Kyaikto Township with mortar shells, and the details of the casualties are still being investigated, said Ko Aye Min Tun, the PDF official in Thaton District.

After the attack on the junta’s 44th Division, the military council retaliated with heavy weapons, but the KNLA joint forces were able to retreat without harm, he said.

In March, the KNLA Joint Force attacked the 44th Division with a drone, and some parts of buildings were destroyed, according to military sources.
