Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) arrested twelve Burmese nationals and pushed back again to Burma on 30 July, Nuru Meah, a local from Ukhiya said.

BGB arrested them from the border entry point of Taungbro while crossing Bangladesh-Burma border, he added.

According to local sources, they crossed Bangladesh-Burma border to visit refugee camps where their relatives live.

BGB personnel arrested 12 Rohingya while entering the Bangladesh at Taungbro border entry point, said Lt. Col. Imaran Ullah Sarkar from Cox’s Bazar Battalion No. 17.  They were driven back to Burma via the said Taungbro entry point within the same day after giving some aids.

However, BGB arrested over 77 Rohingyas from different entry points of border and pushed back to Burma in July 2016, BGB official said.
