Junta Warships Arrive in Katha Town; Deploy Weapons, Food Supplies, and Troops

Junta warships that departed from Gawain Port in Mandalay City to Nothern Myanmar arrived in Katha Town, Sagaing Region, on the evening of 3 September. The warships have since deployed weapons, food supplies, and junta troops.

A resident said: “ Five junta warships, together with junta troops, weapons, and food supplies, have arrived in Katha town. It is not known how many warships will head to Bhamo Town.”

Although a total of five junta warships have arrived in Katha town, the number of warships that will head to Bhamo is not known. Similarly, the details regarding the weapons and military personnel that have arrived in Katha are also unknown.

According to a source, revolutionary forces attacked the warships departing from Katha to Bhamo town at around 11:30 a.m. today. In response, the junta has launched aerial attacks.

A resident said: “The junta's warships were attacked by the People’s Defense Force (PDF). In response, the junta launched aerial attacks.”

During the journey of junta warships, aerial support was provided to protect against attacks from revolutionary forces along the river route.

Since the last week of August, the junta’s eight warships advanced from Gawain Port in Mandalay City to northern Myanmar. However, according to the news report, only five warships have arrived in Katha Town.
