The regime’s Ministry of Planning and Finance announced on the 25th of July, 2022, that the police force would be awarded 10,000 Kyats monthly as risk and hardship allowances.

The economic committee meeting held on July 22, led by the military leader, confirmed that the policemen will be subsidized with 10,000 kyats per month for their risk and hardship.

The Military Council announced that, in addition to salaries, the police will be provided with an additional 10,000 kyats per month starting in August.

A CDM police official noted that the military council lured the police by subsidizing their allowances due to the increasing number of policemen deserting.

He continued, "It's a kind of mobilization approach for law enforcement because more and more policemen were defecting from their duties".

After the military coup, thousands of policemen have joined the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM), and some have abandoned their duties because they are being sent to places where the fighting is intense.

On July 22, the military council announced that unmarried employees will be given 4 percent of their salary and married ones will be given 8 percent of their salary as a rent allowance.
