Junta kills two civilian hostages in Gangaw

The two civilians who were taken as hostages were tortured and shot dead by the military council that advanced on the village of MyinZar village in Magwe Region’s Gangaw Township, the locals informed Than Lwin Times.

Since September 1, the military council has held nearly 20 local people as hostages and been stationed in Myinza village.

The two guys who had been held hostage by the junta army on September 3 were tortured and shot dead.

"As far as we know, the two men who were held as hostages were killed yesterday. We are still looking into the situation with the other individuals. At the moment, no one dares to return to the village," said a local.

The military council unit that killed two civilians was the No. 50 Infantry Division based in Gangaw, and the detainees were also forced to cook rice for the soldiers.

On the other hand, the military council has also been stationed in Kywe Nang village, which is adjacent to Myinzar village, and they have been arresting the residents as hostages.

The regime forces operating in Gangaw district avoid confrontation with the defense forces, and they continue to burn the villages along the marching route and arrest the locals as hostages.
