Junta Drone Strike Hits Sane Cottage Hospital in Kyaukphyu, Damaging Operating Room

In Kyaukphyu Township, Arakan State, where combat persists, the junta has been targeting residential areas with bombs. On March 10, junta troops attacked a small hospital in Sane Town using drones, damaging the surgical area.

A military source told Narinjara News that the assault was executed by two drones from the junta's No. 18 Taung Maw Gyi naval base in Kyaukphyu at approximately 3:00 am on March 10, releasing two bombs.

“The explosives were released at daybreak. It is thought to be a drone experiment. No one was harmed," the source stated.

One of the explosives detonated within the operating room of Sane Hospital, whereas the other fell outside the room.

The hospital has remained shut for an extended period because of continuous conflict, so there were no injuries from the assault.

On the night of August 15, 2024, drones launched from the junta's Taung Maung Gyi naval base released bombs near Sane Town, despite the absence of conflict in the vicinity.

Kyaukphyu, where significant Chinese projects are located, has experienced heavy clashes between the Arakan Army (AA) and junta troops close to these project locations. The junta has been intentionally conducting bombing raids on residential neighborhoods and villages in the region.

Likewise, on the morning of May 9, 2024, junta troops conducted three drone bombings on Sane Town, even though there was no combat occurring there.

The assaults resulted in destruction to multiple structures close to the market and bus terminal.
