Drugs and weapons have been seized from four men and one woman in Payathonzu of Kawkareik District in the Karen (Kayin) State on August 21, according to the Karen State Police Force.
Based on a drug tip-off, the police found 317.52 gram of white crushed materials, which are believed to be ICE, in four plastic packages at the home of Ko Kyaw Lin Tun (a) A Ngal Kaung, the police report stated.
Based on the testimony of Ko Kyaw Lin Tun and his wife, the police found the driver, Saw Htoo Ko, Ko Aye Win (a) Ardit, and Achun (Thai citizen) together with an Isuzu vehicle so they were taken to the police station for inspection.
The police seized 5,252 stimulant tablets, 1,003 gram of white-colored solid piece, which is believed to be ICE, and a gold-colored J2 Prime Samsung handset with Thai SIM card and Ks 119,100 and THB 2,500, which were believed to be drug money.
A 9 mm pistol, one magazine, 16 bullets were also seized from the driver, Saw Htoo Ko. Based on Ko Winn Aye’s testimony, a gray-colored Chevrolet vehicle with Thai license plate has also been seized since it has been used in drug trafficking.
Payathonzu Police Station have filed charges against the four men and one woman under Section 19 (a), 20 (a), 22 (b)/21 of the Narcotics Drug and Psychotropic Substance Law.
