Detainees escape Rathedaung police station

Ein Soe Pru — At least three detainees fled from the Rathedaung police station on Saturday morning breaking the roof of the lockup.

Local sources in Rathedaung, which is 20 miles north of Rakhine capital city Sittwe informed that the detainees took advantage of the weak bathroom and made their way to outside.

Rathedaung  township administrator U Aung Myint Thein  confirmed the incident saying, “It was learned that the incident took place by 9 am this morning. One of my staff informed me about it. I have also spoken to the township police chief over the matter.”

As the police department is yet to make any statement and not responding to the telephone call, it is not possible for Narinjara to reveal all details about the incident.
