The CRPH “Underground Government” declares all administrative bodies formed by the army’s State Administration Council are illegal

The Ministry of the Union Government Office formed by the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) announced on March 3rd, that all administrative bodies formed by the army’s State Administration Council are illegal.

According to the statement by the CRPH that on February 22nd, their Government Office has approved interim public governance organizations that have sprung up after the February coup. CRPH is a kind of “underground government “operating on behalf of the former NLD government and the elected candidates from the 2020 election.

CRPH has now conferred authority so that interim public governance organizations are able to officially exercise the duties of a regional governance authority. 

The statement covers the formation of public governance organizations in respective townships and the implementation of regional administrative matters with the help of the pro-democracy town-elders and civil servants included in the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM).The Ministry of the Union Government Office will continue to issue necessary orders, notifications and directives. The CRPH recently appointed the acting union ministers to perform the duties of the government.

The CRPH appointed Daw Zin Mar Aung as the Union Minister for Foreign Affairs; U Lwin Ko Latt, the Union Minister for the President Office and the Union Government Office; U Tin Tun Naing as the Union Minister for the Planning, Finance and Industry, the Investment and Foreign Economic Relations and the Commerce; and Dr. Zaw Wai Soe, as the Union Minister for Labour, Immigration and Population, the Education and the Ministry of Health and Sports.
