The Chin National Front (CNF) declares its support for anti-coup strikes including the nationwide Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) and stands firmly with the people according to a statement issued on the 73rd Chin National Day which falls on February 20th.

Salai Htet Ni, Spokesperson of the CNF said: “The military coup has reversed the democratic path of the quasi-civilian administration. People from all strata including civil servants are staging protests against the coup by various means. The CNF shares the aims and aspirations of the people.”

In its statement, the CNF said the historic anti-coup strikes have erupted across the country including Chin State.

The collective efforts of Chin people at home and abroad in the anti-coup protests are satisfying. The CNF honors the united efforts for the freedom of Chin State and the Union.

It is the time to move forward and to embrace a system of autonomy, federal system and democracy in line with the aspirations of the Chin people

The CNF urged Chin people to enhance national knowledge and the spirit of self-determination to the highest level and to build collective strength through unity.

The CNF earnestly calls on the Tatmadaw and the police to avoid making threats and to stop this violent crackdown on peaceful protestors.
