A 24-year-old Chin youth was shot dead by the army in region-9 Taungphilarward in Kalay Township in Sagaing Region on June 23rd.

At around 9 pm on June 23rd, the sounds of gunfire were heard near the staff quarters housing in region-9 in Taungphilar ward. He was found dead from gunshot wounds on the morning of June 24th.

The victim is Salai Nung Nei Piang from Taungphilar ward in region-6. Four gunshot wounds were found on his body.
