Residents of Shin Ma Dein Village have been forced to relocate to nearby villages after they were driven out of their village by the Arakan Army in Paletwa Township, southern Chin State, local residents said.
“Fifty-one people from nine households have relocated from Shin Ma Dein Group to Kin Ta Lin Village. The local residents said the AA (Arakan Army) asked them to relocate from the village by the end of this month. The administrator told me that everyone from that village has to move to another village,” said Aik Tun Lin, a member of Paletwa Social Relief Group.
Many residents have been forced to flee from their homes due to the fighting between the Tatmadaw and the Arakan Army. Some of them are in needs of healthcare and food supplies at the moment.
Based on a report from a local resident, Paletwa News also reported on September 1 that the Arakan Army entered Lan Dan Village of Shin Ma Dein Group and shot a cow with their guns and drove away the villagers.
