In 563 KIA Operations Against the Junta in 2023, 23 enemy bases and outposts Were Captured

Colonel Naw Bu,  the spokesman of the KIO/KIA, (Kachin Independence Organization/Kachin Independence Army), stated that in in the course of 563 clashes with the Military Council in 2023, KIA successfully seized 23 enemy bases and outposts of various sizes .

"In 2023, we engaged in 563 battles with the Military Council. We managed to capture 23 of their camps, varying in size, and witnessed the voluntary withdrawal of troops from 8 camps on their part”, Colonel Naw Bu told MNJ.

He also cautioned the public to remain vigilant, emphasizing that resistance forces are intensifying armed offensives to overthrow the military dictatorship, leading to the possibility of unpredictable clashes erupting in various locations.

"Every resistance force is putting their best effort into armed attacks to end the dictatorship, and this means battles can occur anywhere, anytime. It's crucial for the public to stay alert and cautious. I encourage everyone to stay tuned to the military news for real-time updates”, he emphasized.

Since the start of the year, the military tensions between KIA and the Military Council have escalated. Amid the ongoing offensives by KIA, it successfully seized at least three bases of the Military Council in northern Shan State and Kachin State.

Colonel Naw Bu reported 621 battles between the two sides in 2021 and 504 in 2022, summing up to a total of 1,125 clashes in two years.
