More than two dozen houses destroyed by fire along the Namhpatkar-Namhkam Road in Shan-State

A devastating fire broke out in the 12-Mile village on the Namhpatkar-Namhkam Road in Lashio District of Shan State, resulting in the destruction of 26 houses.

The fire erupted at approximately 11:00 PM on April 7th and caused significant damage to several homes. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, a representative from the Lashio Youth Social Welfare Association told Shan Herald.

"Based on the initial investigation, we have learned that the fire in the village destroyed 26 houses, and thankfully, no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still unknown. As the location of the fire is a bit distant from us, we do not yet have access to all the details. We received news of the incident while we were helping those affected by the fire”, he said.

The investigation to determine the cause of the fire is currently ongoing.

During hot and dry summers, the risk of fire increases due to hot winds, as well as the potential for fires caused by electrical wire short circuits.
