Interim online-based education program of Myitkyina University will resume

The interim online-based education program (out-of-school learning) run by the Myitkyina University Student Union will resume in the near future, according to a report released on September 18.

An online education program was initiated as an out-of-school education system for students who decided not to attend schools opened by the Military Council and joined the civil disobedience movement (CDM). The teaching processes had been temporarily suspended since August 10 however the programs were on the verge to resume, the announcement stated.

The planned date to resume the program had not been decided yet but an official of the Myitkyina University Student Union said it should start again in October.

“We are still waiting for the feedback for the program and trying to begin next month”, the official said.

In the online-based education program planned to reopen, live teaching arrangements will be taught directly from Zoom and other platforms. Seminars, webinars and other teaching methods such as pre-recorded videos will also be involved.

The types of courses include academic courses that will help with majoring subjects, language courses, vocational courses and social courses.

A certificate will be issued after completing each respective course. The class fees will be different depending on the chosen subjects.

The fees received from that program will be donated to use for the spring revolution projects and internal displaced people fleeing the war. Furthermore, students with financial difficulties can apply for a scholarship.

Only CDM students and staff who participated in the CDM movement will be allowed to join the interim online-based education program run by Myitkyina University Student Union.
