A Federal Union and Ramayana Mon State Constitution will soon be drafted, Nai Wunna Man, a spokesperson for the 2022 Mon National Conference, told Than Lwin Times.

At the Mon National Conference, a 17-member negotiation committee was formed, consisting of representatives from Mon Sanghas, the New Mon State Party (NMSP), the Mon Unity Party (MUP), Mon civil organizations, and individuals and organisations who should be invited.

The NMSP and the Mon Unity Party have each chosen three representatives for the negotiation committee, while the remaining groups, including Mon Sanghas and Mon civil society organizations, are being invited to submit the names of their representatives.

As it was difficult to select the representatives from the individuals and organizations that should be involved, Nai Wunna Man said he would hold a meeting with the Mon National Conference Implementation Committee to select five representatives from that.

Once a group of representatives for negotiation committee for drafting the constitution was selected, a Federal Union and Yamanya Mon State Constitution will be drafted.

The Mon National Conference, which took place from May 2 to 5, resolved that the Federal Union and the Mon state Yamanya Constitution would be finalized within six months.
