48th Mon State Day held amid tight security

The 48th Mon State Day, which falls on March 19, was held at the State Hall of Mawlamyine by the military council amid tight security.

Nearly 100 of military soldiers, police and traffic police were deployed around the ceremony and the traffic was blocked as well, the locals told Than Lwin Times.

It was held with the departmental officials under the Military Council without allowing the public to enter.

The ceremony was attended by Phado Man Nyein Maung, a member of the Military Council, Deputy Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, Prime Minister and Ministers of State levels and departmental officials.

The ceremony of 48th Mon State Day is scheduled to be held for three days from March 18 to 20.
