Kachin State Disabled Persons Share Pandemic Experiences During Online Forum

People with disabilities will gather for an online conference on Friday's International Day of Disabled Persons to exchange views on the challenges of the pandemic.

Lamung Gam Hpan, principal of a school for blind persons in Myitkyina, the capital of Kachin State, said disabled people from Bhamo, Mohnyin and Myitkyina districts will come together during the online conference.

"They will talk about their experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic and how they overcame these challenges. We will also distribute hand gels and masks to disabled people," he told NMG. Lamung Gam Hpan said people with intellectual disabilities won't attend the online seminar on 3 December.

Disabled people in Putao District are unable to attend this year as the regime has suspended all connectivity in the region.
