Though Police Major Tint Shwe, who is the plaintiff of the 8 people case including AA Commander-in-Chief General Tun Myat Naing’s brother, Ko Aung Myat Kyaw with arrested by the terrorism charges have withdrawn them, another court hearing is setting on June 9 without releasing them today.

Though the Western District Court arraigned the 8 detainees around 11 Am this morning, it will not hear from the witness because the case is about to be dropped.

"The witness, Police Major Min Min Thu, arrived at the court today. However, the case is still pending not to be investigated since the case is about to be dropped. They have rescheduled the case for the 9th of this month,” said Kyaw Myo Tun, a lawyer who is following their case.

Without questioning the witness, Police Major Min Min Thu in the court today by the judge, he adjourned trial after talking briefly for about 15 minutes to the 8 people including Ko Aung Myat Kyaw at the courtroom.

Their families were appearing in the court by expecting all eight detainees, including Ko Aung Myat Kyaw, to be released today.

"Police Major Tint Shwe has dropped the case against them. All that is left is a letter from the Counter-Terrorism Central to drop the case. If the letter arrives, he will be released on June 9”, U Kyaw Myo Tun told Narinjara News.

Police Major Tint Shwe who was serving in the Special Police Force at the time, charged the eight, under Section 50 (j) and Section 52 (a) of the Counter-Terrorism Law.

The Western District Court arraigned all eight, who are Ko Aung Myat Kyaw, Ko Myat Lin Oo, Ko Ye Htet Kyaw, Ma Aye Myat Mon, Ko Tin Hlaing Oo, Ko Hein Zaw, Maung Pan (or) Tun Aye, and Ko Shwe Hlaing Than and they are all in good health.

Ma Aye Myat Mon said, “Everyone is healthy. But living in prison is making them exhausting. We hope to be released as soon as possible”.

Court Lawyer U Aung Kyaw Sein and Lawyer U Kyaw Myo Tun who are following their case, appeared in court today.

On June 9, the court will arraign Ko Aung Myat Kyaw and eight, including General Tun Myat Naing's sister according to U Aung Kyaw Sein.

The leaders of the Arakanese Association (Singapore), including Aung Myat Kyaw, live in Singapore however, the Home Affairs of Singapore arrested them at their home on July 6 and 7 2019, and send them back to Myanmar.

 

Myanmar Police Force detained the eight and charged them under counter-terrorism charges when they arrived in Myanmar.
